Your week at Fox Springs can be as active or as lazy as you choose. We conduct sports tournaments, games, and activities for those who want to participate or watch. However, you may choose to read, sun yourself, take a nap, tube float, fish, or whatever - the facilities are here for an active friendly vacation or a private pursuit of solitude.

A typical day at Fox Springs begins with a sports tournament at which you get acquainted with the other guests while enjoying the relaxing competition. Afternoons are usually free of scheduled activities and most guests head for the pool to swim or sun. Many others go to the river to fish or float in inner tubes. After the evening meal its volleyball or softball with vocal encouragement provided by the less active guests.

Evening activities are family oriented - square dancing, scavenger hunt, hayride, wiener roast, songfest, games, talent show, etc. The lodge recreation room usually has a wide variety of card games in which most guests take part. When the kids are in bed it makes for a relaxing way to end the day.

You will need your own fishing gear, golf clubs, and ball gloves. We have about everything else: tennis rackets, balls, bats, ping-pong, horseshoes, shuffleboard, shuffle-alley, badminton, croquet, hiking trails, cards, games, tubes, etc. We have two tennis courts. For the fisherman the boats are free, the river clear and cool, the fish cagey but catchable.

Should you wish to float there are competent outfitters ready to serve your need. There is an excellent grass greens golf course at Cuba - play is open and uncrowded.

Bring your camera! There are also a number of tourist attractions near the lodge:

  • Dillard Mill
  • Meramec Spring Park
  • Historic Hermann Wineries
